Regarding a name for it, keep the suggestions coming in. Charlie and I have tried to come up with something suitable. I don't think Charlie thought much of some of my suggestions , like the "Hank Tank" (laugh) or "Ezi Meazzi" but I didn't mind "Shadow Play" - all good fun. Cheers, John Why not "Echomagic" ? Didier

Thanks for all the suggestions. Hi Didier and Scott, I liked Echomagic and had already thought of it. I knew about Magitec's echo unit but did not know the name of it. Hi Baz, EFTP is actually a trading name belonging to someone else. I have never officially used it other than to describe the echoes informally. It was started by Eddie Allen when he reviewed the Q2 with my patches in Guitarist magazine. The best name so far seems to be a combination of Magic and Star (the latter is part of a name by Bojan). Bojan has started a new thread to discuss the possible names there instead of here: charliehall.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=8868&page=1#76855Regards, Charlie

Power supply for Australia shouldn't be a problem, aren't they 240v like the U.K. ? Hi, Amanda, Yes, Australia's power supply is 240v. I'm not sure if the plug fitting is the same for both countries or not. Perhaps somebody on the forum will know. Regards, Scott

I hope you don't forget us in the USA. put me down for one MULTI-ECHO for sure, depending on the price I might end up buying two, its always good to have a spare, plus I'm sure my guitar player Abdel will want two also and he likes to have a spare. so please put me down for one for sure, and he can post himself. Abdel plays Guitar in a Shadows band here in California, USA. called THE MEN OF MYSTERY and I join them sometimes on vocals when they do Cliff Richard and the Shadows gigs, on the side I play guitar in a few other bands and I have been using the magicstomp and loving the echos. I very excited and can't wait for your new pedal to be made, Bless you and I hope your feeling better. Danny Dean

Hi Danny Dean, Thanks for your interest. I haven't forgotten about possible customers in the US. I have yet to figure out a solution for the power supply in that country and also Canada and others that have the same voltage and plugs. I will look into it. It might mean supplying the unit without a power supply but I will try to find a suitable source for small quantity orders. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie Since in Canada, we carbon copy the USA..the same voltage must be applied to your units. Is it not possible to build a universal power supply like the one in the Alesis Q20?..There would not be any problem in whatever country you plug the unit...! Sheendigs

Hi Sheendigs, The most common problem with the Q20 is the switch mode power supply. It is easier from a manufacturing point of view to use a separate power supply made and supplied from elsewhere. Regards, Charlie

AARRRRRGGGGHHHHH! No please no! Not a switch mode PSU, I spent ages faultfinding a Q20 PSU after several loud bangs and sets of components I finally sorted it!!

Hi Charlie I was talking about those international power supply or kind of wall mart that can detect what kind of power is coming in and switch automatically in order to supply 12 VAC. Normally, one uses that kind for portable computers and they work fine...not necessarily built like the Q20 internally. My technician showed me one the other day, that was very light and switches input when plugged in, and it does not uses any transformer. I will try to get some info and forward it to you! Sheendigs

Hi Sheendigs, If there is one that can supply 12 volts AC at 500ma with an input ranging from 100 volts AC (or lower) to 250 volts (or higher), I could be interested. However, it still doesn't solve the different plug connections around the world. It seems easier to go with the transformer type. Regards, Charlie

Hi.
All that fuzz with different voltage is solved on most modern rack effects, it is just to plug and play regardless if it is 110 V or 240V and they are provided with a simple plug converter as all computers are to day. Both my modern effects TC Electronics G Force and Eventide Eclipse it is that way, I like it.
Kind Regards, 26rednef

I've been following the announcement of the echo box and the demo at your weekend get together.
Despite all the frantic activity about it on this site things have been very slow on the shadowmusic site. I made a few posts about it and it prompted a few replies but either eveyone is on this site or SM has gone to sleep. Anyway it 's here where it's happening and there's a lot of response and enthusiasm for it.
Please add me to customer list for one

Hi Ivan, That demo is not good. There was a bad setting on the echo at the time it was recorded, and I wasn't happy at all with the guitar tone. I will be recording it again at some point. I will be posting some other demos soon. I have edited your message because you should not post your email address on a public forum without disguising it in some way. You will have all kinds of problems with spam if you are not careful. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, as one of the many people that attended the get together, along with quite a few members from my own SYSC and the wetherby club, I think I can speak for all of us and say that we were all very impressed indeed and wish you all the best with the unit. Talking to Eddie parker since we got back, he said that had he thought about it at the time what he should have done was to ask if he could plug his amp into the unit to get an idea of the sound through his amp - (after thought) but we were all still very impressed. And given Eddies background as (I think I'm right in saying) that he was for many years a BBC sound engineer he certainly knows what he's talking about. Anyway enough said - please could you add me to the list for one of the units when the project is finished. Regards - Mike Kilner.
