Hi Derek, Thanks for your suggested name. I'm not keen on the word Stomp and the Magicstomp has already used it anyway. I like Dream and had even thought of it too. I need to give the new unit a fresh new name, it has to be easy to remember, and it has to sound right, regardless of the meaning, but that is difficult to define as it probably involves personal preferences.
Hi dannydean, Thanks for the comprehensive list. I have copied and pasted into Notepad and quickly eliminated some unsuitable ones. I am trying to avoid the word Shadow or Shadows. Also eliminated Charlie as it would have to have John included but I don't think Charlie & John or John & Charlie are suitable. There are still a lot left to go through by process of elimination. I could possibly add a few to it by looking through the entire thread again. It's a useful list to have with so many ideas all in one place, so thanks very much.
Regards, Charlie

Unless I have made a mistake, I have 105 names on the list so far.
I have posted a message in the names thread showing a sorted list of what I think are the better names from here plus some I have added, mainly derived from names already suggested.
Hi Gerd, Development is not finished. The prototype pedal is at a stage where some patches are working well. There are still many more patches to write, and production still has to be sorted out. It will be a few more months, I think.

Hi Charlie,it's nice to know your magic will going on into the future with a new device! Count me in for two units please. Will there be a "cutting edge" filter build in,into the new unit? Or will it be an "edge-less" echo....the edge-less echo unit, has a nice ring.... ;D Thanks and groetjes Rob

Hi Rob,
Thanks, I have written your name for two units. The list is only for the purpose of estimating how many units to have manufactured for the first production run. I do not expect anyone to place a firm order until I am able to give the selling price.
There is no Cutting Edge filter in the new echo unit but it does have the same filter frequencies as the Meazzi Ecomatic 2 circuit, which does remove some bass (it makes low notes a little clearer), it is just not as much as with a Cutting Edge or with an AC15 or AC30/4 circuit.
Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie
Just stumbled across the 36-24-36 demo - it's awesome and probably one of the best I've heard across the boards - in terms of echo / tone and playing
this is going to be some unit !!!
Mark.

Hi Charlie I would definately be interested in a unit depending on the price (I'm only a bedroom player). I would be willing to be an official Cyprus tester for you .

Thanks to all who have asked for their names to be put on the list. Please bear in mind that the list is currently only for the purpose of estimating the quantity to order for a first production run. I intend to contact everyone on the list when the price is known.
Hi roadworn, There will not be a built in tuner. It will be purely an echo unit. The design concept is to have it functioning and sounding like an original echo unit as much as possible. Any additional effects required will need to be added with a separate unit. For example, some of the European players like to add additional reverb, this trend seems to have been started by the Spotnicks and was certainly not the main ingredient of Hank's sound, although it was often added by the studio. I will point out that a guitar, echo unit (with the correct echoes), and amp is all that should be needed for the vast majority of Shadows tunes.
Regards, Charlie

Sound & price notwithstanding please add me to the list Charlie. An interesting fact a meazzi/vox/jennings badged echo unit in 1959-60 cost £85gns today that equates to £1509.30p, I really hope your unit will be a lot less. Best Regards Jono

Hi, because I dont have the comments on this threat in chronical order I read that the unit will be available in some months, but this is from 2008. Others from 2011 discuss the name. Maybe this is answered somewhere I have to ask: When will the unit be available? What will it cost? I a demo soundtrack available?
Kind regards Pinot

Hi Pinot If all goes to plan the unit will be released some time this year, hopefully in a few months time. The final price has not been decided yet due to many factors. Charlie I'm sure will post here as soon as he has something concrete to report. I do know the unit will not be overpriced & should be affordable Hi, because I dont have the comments on this threat in chronical order I read that the unit will be available in some months, but this is from 2008.
