Hi Roger I've got fairly small and weak hands (I think) but I've persevered with 11s Elixir because of the great tone they give. I have found that there is definitely a knack to string bending that takes some of the strain off the finger actually doing the work by "propping up" the finger doing the bending by placing the adjacent finger alongside it. Easier to show that do - sorry. Failing that, as you live in the West midlands maybe a visit to Hankies would be a good idea. You can strengthen your fingers by trying to take a Cheese Cob out of Alan Bakewells hands!! LOL! cheers ian

Hi Charlie I think I was reading too much between the lines. There had been (elsewhere) a huge ruck about a youtube file to which a member had pointed to the link. It was of another member playing guitar and the sound on that youtube file had been hijacked and changed. I assumed it was that - I didnt read the Header post well enough - sorry for the confusion, Charlie. cheers Ian

Hi Soren you'll be glad when you have learned this tune - its great to play. I played this Live at a Charity Concert in Stoke On Trent with a guy using a portable neckslung Casio organ. Sounded great and the audience loved it. cheers ian

Surely one posts on Youtube for Recognition and can hardly complain when that happens ! Its in the public domain and access for all so my view is "if you dont want it to be seen - don't post it". Often we see youtube postings that are of interest to others (performances, playing tips, jokes etc). It will be sad that these links cant be passed on. I believe the link in question was a "Hijacked" youtube posting making a mockery of what the Player was intending to do by in the first instance putting a stupid track over the top and then what was possibly the original recording over the top. All he had to do to stop it was pull his file off Youtube. However I do understand why you feel it is necessary to restrict to Players or 'Sponsored 'postings - it will eliminate the problem. cheers Ian

Hi Gary How are you, my friend? Thanks for the info. I love my Zoom2000 to bits but now that I'm doing a fair bit of "modern" Hank I find the Patches like 36 for the fat Meazzi type echoes a bit"thin". I tend to boost the signal up with Compressor and also added Reverb to try and get the sound I'm after. I have used a Q2 when using someone elses back line and been impressed with the sound but have never been sure how much was the Sound Engineer and how much was the Kit. cheers ian

Hi All Pardon my lack of knowledge - I've been a Zoom2000EFTP user since Forever! I have been offered a genuine Charlie Hall Q2 with the "79" patches (whatever they are) and all documentation is complete. What is the difference between a Q2 and a Q20, how old are these units, which came first and will I really hear a sonic diference in Shadows echoes between the Q2 and my much loved Zoom2000EFTP. Its quite a few bob to buy so I dont want to waste my cash -er - obviously! Any help would be appreciated. cheers ian

Hi Charlie Sorry to confuse. The one one file is the BT, the other is just a reference file of the original recording opening section so you can hear the difference in ambience. Once you hear the track you will know who it was and probably know why no genuine BT is available. cheers ian

Hi Charlie thats very kind. Its only ever been available as a 128 mp3. I'll send the file and the opening section of the Original file to 4shred so you can hear the difference. Then I'll PM you. thanks Ian

I have a very good BT which is predominantly acoustic guitar, electric rhythm, Bass and drums. BUT - the reverbed acoustic guitar especially is too brittle, too trebley compared to the original and I would like to take the 'edge' of that feature. Its what you would do with your guitar by turning down the 'tone' knob a little, but there is only EQ available and that changes the volume levels (doesnt it?) of frequencies and its the "Ambience" I'm trying to fix. I only have simple kit - Cakewalk GuitarPro2 (yep - that old!) or could export the track to AdobeAudutuion 1.5 if there is a simple tool that I could use. Any ideas. cheers ian

I have just recorded a piece ("Tomorrow Never Dies", if you are interested) and the high register parts have turned out a little "Bright". If I were to go back and start over again, I would have tweaked the Treble SHELVING filter on the Mixer a bit to smooth the 'edge' off. But ,what is done, is done. How can I do it in my recording software after the event?? I have a 32 band EQ if I want it, but all EQ seems to do in remove VOLUME around the frequency, not the sharp edge. Any ideas? PS - what is the actual frequency of 1st string 12 th fret (E) - anyone know?? cheers Ian
