At about 2mins12sec it sounds as though Hank adds overdrive to his sound this could be what you mean. Steve

I use a midi pedal called One Control Gecko it has 20 presets so you can jump past as many patches as you like eg patch 01-36 etc it runs on 9v or battery saves having to scroll through all patches between. Steve

Hi John, To check what firmware version you have press and hold GLOBAL then press and hold PROGRAM this will tell you what version is installed. As far as I know you have to change a chip inside which normally has the firmware version on a sticker on it I think the last one they did was V2.01.you can still get the chips as far as I know.

Hi Dave, The usb on g2 is only for audio and does not work as a interface the patches have to be manually put in. Steve.

You could get a piece of 6mm black plastic sheet and try making one if its the piece I think you mean.I don't know if it comes with the new trem from Burns as it is not on the picture on their website. Steve.

Sorry Pete, ignore my last comment,Ive just realised you are on about the tension of the springs and strings and not the arm itself. You could maybe add a spring and increase string gauge or even bend the arm a bit to get it to the same position. Steve.

Hi Pete, Dont know if your strat has a screw in trem or push in.If its a screw in you could check the tiny spring that is down the hole where the arm screws in quite often they fall out unnoticed,or maybe a bit of ptfe plumbers tape on the arms thread. If its a push in arm there is a small set screw on the back of the block you have to depress the trem to see it and just nip it up a bit.Hope this helps. Steve.

Hi Pete, The only time you might find the effects loop useful is if you are using the amps own distortion as this would also distort the echo, whereas the effects loop is after the pre-amp,You would connect send to the input side of your pedal and return to the output hope this makes sense. Steve.

Shadows27,If you know how to program your GT8 you can have more than one dual delay running in a chain using 2 will give 4 delay times as long as you know the times you will be ok.

Hi all, I've just been looking at a calculator on a website at a set of 10-46 strings over a 25.5" scale length and the total tension was 101Lbs or 46kg there was not a lot of difference between high and low E the highest were A and D but only by about a kilo.Interestingly for a scale length of 24.75 like a Les Paul it reduced overall by about 4 kilo's but its still like hanging 2 bags of cement on a set of strings. It reminded me of a tune I heard years ago but couldn't place, then I realized it was the demo for the KCP Marvin amp in guitarist magazine from Feb 2002 weird how some tunes stick in your head. Steve.

There is a pedal called a Boonar which emulates a Binson Echorec drum echo with 4 heads which has a drum speed control which alters all 4 head timings synergically. While this is a great pedal it is still not as flexible as the H&C as the head spacings are fixed giving lim ited patterns whereas you can set up to 6 heads on the H&C to whatever times you want. Steve.

HI Milko, Sorry to jump in on your post but I also play a G7 through headphones quite a bit and find that nearly all the EFTP patches sound better on the B channel, this has no amp sim or eq and sounds very close to my ears as it does live through my amp.Its worth trying just press the channel A/B function button the light goes red or green.

I have hundreds of guitarist magazines dating back to the mid 90's.EFTP products reviewed are :Q2 July 97,RFX2000 Feb 03,RFX2200 Apr 06,G7 Feb 07 which also had a backing track of the demo tune called Eye Of The Storm. Also Charlies Cutting Edge pedal was reviewed but I cant remember the date so it wouldn't be a surprise to see the new Hall and Collins pedal being reviewed,I hope it does and shows the best of it. Steve.

Hi Baz, I built a kit from ampmaker and needed a speaker cab.I used 19mm Plywood for the cabinet and baffle and purchased everything else(tolex, speakercloth, feet and handle)from a company called Solsound on the well known auction site. The only thing I would say is experiment with open and closed back cabinets.I actually made the centre back part of my cab adjustable and it makes a big difference to the sound, more bass when fully closed etc.hope this helps. Steve.

Hi everyone, At christmas I was kindly bought a pedal called a Gecko made by One Control. It is only about 4 inches square in size and runs on a 9 volt stomp box supply. It is connected to my Q2 via a midi cable and can change the programs up or down.Another good feature it has is a memory for 8 presets which is very useful for such tunes as slaughter as it can go from say patch 33 to 45 instantly while playing.I probably dont use more than 8 patches anyway so I can store my favourites and call them up without having to scroll through manually by hand. They cost just over £100.but are well worth it for live playing or at home it saves having to turn around all the time to change things.Tried it on a Q+ as well and it was ok.
