Hi Tony,
The easy way to a new body is from Warmoth (US). Comes pre-drilled and routed, made of any wood you choose and finished any way you like. All you have to do is (possibly) shim the neck and transfer your hardware. AllParts (UK) offer a similar service but there's less choice.

Hi John,
There are some Hank settings provided for the XT models but unfortunately none for the X3s. Also the Echo models are good but limited so you still need that external effects loop (which is available on the X3 Live floorboard but not the X3 kidney bean).

Hi Ashby,
It looks like you've arrived at the same place as me. Charlie doesn't provide files for the Pod X3 Live and you'll find that there aren't any user patches on the Line6 site.
So far I've created a bank of four amp models. I call it the Hank Bank (OK I'll get my coat ... !), which comprises:
1. Early Hank --- using the 1960 Class A-15 for Move It, Apache etc.,
2. Mid Hank --- using the Class A-30 Fawn,
3. Later Hank --- using the Class A-30 Top Boost,
4. Ultimate Hank --- using the 1993 Matchless D-30.
I'm still experimenting with the various tone and cut settings.
In each case I've set up an effects loop (pre rather than post) that feeds a MagicStomp with Charlie's EFTP, for the echoes.
The output from Pod goes to a Hi-Fi amp, PA mixing desk or an acoustic guitar amp. Currently I'm using a Marshall AS100 with all the tone controls set flat, low gain and a tiny bit of room reverb.

Gary,
How?
I use XP but I'm about to upgrade to Win7 so I'm anticipating problems.

Hi Les,
I think you want the Roadhouse Strat with three Texas Special single coils. It was marketed at the same time as the Lonestar and for a similar price. It's otherwise identical.

Hi Charlie,
Yes I see (feel?) what you mean. It was the word "gently" that fooled me (I had to look it up). I'm afraid my playing style is more Pete Townsend than Hank B.
Although I installed my own Tremsetter, Bill once installed a Hipshot Trilogy for me. He's a cool guy.

Hi Charlie,
I wonder if it was set up exactly right --- they can be very fiddly to do but it's a one-off procedure.
I've got one fitted to my Roadhouse Strat and it works perfectly. I did have to drill that little hole though.

Hi 26rednef,
I'm fortunate to own a genuine '64 AC30/6 TB. I also have a POD X3 LIVE, which does a fair job of emulating all the AC models and a Matchless, but I've no idea what tone and presence settings to use.

Hipshot make nifty gadget called a "Tremsetter", which is great for bringing a Strat back into tune after moving the vibrato. It should fit onto most Strats without any modification --- but just occasionally you have to make a small hole inside the spring compartment to make clearance for the piston.
Try Allparts for Hipshot supplies.

Hi All,
While were on this topic of authenticity, has anyone researched what amp Hank was using on any given recording, and what amp settings were likely?

Hi Fenderbullits,
Jol Dantzig (of Hamer Guitars) had the permission of Gary Moore to take apart Peter Green's '59 'burst Les Paul. His assesment was that the soldering was original so the guitar had never been "rewired" to be electrically out-of-phase as often stated. However the neck pickup had been reversed in position and the magnet in the pickup was the wrong way round (when manufactured) so it was magnetically out-of-phase!
