Hi Noel, yes, I think your right, my trouble is I've played in bands for nearly 40years but this time I'm the front man and its a different kettle of fish. It would be nice to ring the changes re material but we are very limited with our reputuar. its finding the time to learn new material etc, etc, however we sometimes re arrange the set list order depending on the nature of the folks in the building. We are only doing this for a bit of fun and we only do the odd paid Gig here and there, we are not a professional set up in this case. Thanks for your imput Noel and I hope you are keeping well. cheers Pete

Hi, I don't normally ask questions just for the sake of it but would be interested in feed back on this. We have recently been doing monthly concerts, as instrumentalists, with the odd song, our set list is below. when does a set list become too long? my list is usually split into two sets and sometimes even 3, depending on the night.
this is the order of our set list: Dance on Atlantis Riders in the sky Summerlove59 Sweet dreams Just listen to your heart Theme for young lovers Nights in white satin From Russia with love Wonderful land Theme from a summer place Geronimo The Windjammer I love you more than I can say 'Woman' Going home Alfie Apache Sleepwalk My resistance is low The stranger Theme from Shane The deer Hunter Some are lonely Round and Round Back Home
set 2 Foot tapper The rise and fall of Flingle Bunt Albatross Mustang Frightened city The Savage Gonzales Shindig Big boy Shadoogie FBI
this is the set lists we have used for the past few months. Has anyone got any thoughts on better arrangements of the material in the set lists? We do vary it a bit, in the sense that my rhythm player plays the lead on Albatross, Deer hunter and Windjammer. many thanks Pete Leyland

Hi Charlie, I wondered if you could help me here, I did a concert on Friday night, no idea how it happened but somehow got my H&C transformer mixed up with my Magic stomp, transformer and now I don't know which is which. :-) only I could do something like that but I was told that both produced a similar output but havn't tried it just in case. your help would be appreciated, at your convenience. rgds Pete

hi Roger, if I were you, I wouldn't bother with tabs, just listen to the tune and better still, what we see the artist plays it and copy it, I have never touch a tab in my life, probably wouldn't know how to anyway ha ha but enjoy either way :-) Pete

Hi everyone, is it not possible to copy the URL and paste into the Sound file thread? I have a lot of new videos to post up but as I used Photobucket, it seems you can't 3rd party host? cheers Peter

Hi Steve, I'm not sure how often you play, at home or in public but I have found the more you play, it can get tedious, if possible, its better not to play to often, that way you keep it fresh and more motivated when you do play. It also helps a great deal, to have other intrests and to indulge in those thing too, that way you get a good mix and the guitar playing becomes less monotonous, so to speak. Pete

Hi Charlie, I have to say, I use an EF86 channel in my English AC30 and for the older numbers, Apache, Frightened city, Wonderful land etc, its absolutely fabulous, so its a great project you have in the making here Charlie. I had a good look at your (Raggy tramline) video's, excellent 'but' was surprised to see you were using a Peavey Amplifier? Pete A L

Hi I once had the AD30vt, it had a master volume control on the back so you could set, so that when you used the volume control, it had a cap on the amount of volume you would use, I never bothered I always had it up full on the back and just used the volume on the top control panel. Len is about right re the boutique setting, especially in the house but I found I couldn't get a rounded enough sound in the live set, so set it for the Fender Twin channel, I found it to give me a fuller sound. pete

Good morning Charlie, thank you for your kind reply and help with my query, I will try that out for sure. I am very pleased with the Hall & Collins, I tried it out for the first time at a Gig last week, 'superb' and the comments I received from folks who don't normally comment on such things, was well received. It is a great machine, thanks for all the hard work you put into it. cheers Peter

Hi Baz thanks re your kind comments, its not a problem as such re the trem, its just getting used to it, I'm getting more and more used to it now. I took a couple of springs out so I could get it lower but it makes it more sensitive then and its this that I have to get used to, the trouble with playing shadows music, its very easy to overdo the trem work, so discipline is called for. cheers I will try to get a couple of videos up on here but Photobucket have now changed there set up and they wont have 3rd party hosting, unless you pay for it, as I understand it but don't hold that to me :-) cheers Pete

Hi Baz, no didn't use the EF86 channel, I just plugged into the brilliant channel, reason is, I have been so busy with work, I hadn't had chance to experiment with it but I was more than happy with the sound I had, I had so many comments on the sound from folks, so I just took it, it must have been a good sound out front. we had a few issues with the rhythm guitar being a bit loud in the mix as we were using backing tracks too and was struggling to here the timing on the backing tracks but managed it. cheers Peter
