Hi Colin,
The way I understand it (I might have it the wrong way around) the volume is the amount of signal that hits the pre amp (like a gain control) and the master volume is what comes out of the end of the amp. I might of over simplified it but that's my understanding.
With regards to the eq, I have (like many others) a caline 10 band eq, and I use it just to cut the lower and higher frequencies, takes the boom and spikyness out which in turn focuses the mid range.

Hi Ken
As far as I know they are, message Spike or fenderplucker (tvs team) on here.

I set mine like this generally. Bass between 0-2, mids 8-12, treble around 8. I find an eq pedal like the caline really helps trimming off some fat. I normally have volume set around 4/5 and the master about 3. If you want to use it like an ac15 or 30 master up in 12 and just use the volume control.

Hi Roger
It wont make any difference itll work as it should, whether its 1, 2, 4 or 10 speakers. I regularly switch between my ac30 and blues jr (1×12). Main thing you'll notice is a little less bottom end from the single speaker.

Hi,
Just use as normal, guitar to echo the to the amp. If you need the headphones just plug them in.

Hi Keith
If it's the early sound you're after I would use the ef86 channel with the bright switch on. I have an ac30 with Roger's EF86 add on unit set on position 2 which would be the same setting on your amp. The only other thing I have in the chain is a caline 10 band eq with the bottom and top end rolled off. Have look on the tvs site under that gear, for a basic guide on how to set your amp

Hi Charlie,
I followed all the discussions from the beginning of the mystery echo box until the release of the unit in 2015, I really appreciate all the knowledge and work you and John put in to this which is why I'm so please to finally have one in my possession. As fantastic as it sounds in the hundreds of files you can really really hear all the nuances when it's right in front of you. All the emulations sound wonderful, I really like the model J emulations playing over some Cliff stuff this afternoon, it sounded awesome. I like many others could sit here all nice praising your and John's work. Bravo.

Hi Charlie,
I've run it through my blues jr, yesterday day and was really impressed, I flattened the eq as much as possible on the amp this afternoon and and stuck a joyo ac tone in front of the amp which helped alot.
We all know you've had the head times down pat from day dot. But what has really struck me, more so today as I had a good 1 1/2 hours with the unit, is the dynamic response of the echoes, I've not heard on any other unit I've used (from the zoom 508, rfx, quad gt(that I still have) q2. Q20 and magic stomp). Its much more organic like my Ese, I know we mentioned in another post about being able to drive the echoes and using that to get growl and bark out of them. I played Shadoogie and The Savage several times and couldnt stop smiling.
And I feel the echo for Apache is finally right, I'm not sure what it was on the previous programmed units but there was something I couldnt put my finger on it. I can "feel" what I'm doing with the echoes now if you know what I mean.
Absolutely outstanding work by you and John.
Thanks
Scotth

Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a good Xmas. I finally became an owner of a H&C echo yesterday thanks to my fiancee (and also thanks to her I didn't get as much time with it as I would have liked 😂).
I'm not going to say anything new here but, Charlie and John (RIP) you have done an amazing job. After listening to the many demos and soundfiles I knew it was going to be good. It exceeded what I was expecting, firstly the the weight, its built like a tank, I knew it would be quality but wow, theres no stopping this baby. I just cant wait to get the Vox up and running to have a run through.

Hi Rob
Thanks for you reply. I know exactly what you are saying and am aware there is a window prior to the release of the album. These two units to me seem to be the most likely candidates, I really love the sound of this album and this track in particular. Id have an uneducated guess and say i think it may be the binson.
thanks

Hi Everyone
I am really enjoying this album at the moment, Ive just started learning You're the one that I want, my daughters favorite (probably not for much longer after hearing me practice over and over lol). Just wondering if any one knew which unit was used on this track, after looking at the Paul's list on the TVS site it could be either.
Thanks

Hi Charlie,
In response to the question you posed. I have an early 60's AC30 (non original cab with Rogers EF86 add on unit) I would love to own an AC15 or AC30/4. As normal bloke living in the real world that probably wont be a reality for me lol. But the idea that I could have a pedal that would give me those tones and that could also be used as an amp sim will be a god send, i like everyone else are waiting eagerly for this pedals arrival. I know the results will be amazing.
Thanks

Hi Chris,
I'm not sure if Roger Allcock still makes them but have you thought about his EF86 preamp that is retro fitted to your amp of choice, I like many other members I imagine have one on my AC30. I think I've had it about 18 years now and it is an amazing add on.
Thanks

Personally I Just set it where it sounds right and play. I've spent many (wasted to a point) years looking at everything under the microscope and over analysing. I could of been playing instead :-)

I know it's a different beast altogether but I understand Charlie's preference for doing this. I like the sound of a slightly older tape on my Ese Echomatic for the with a higher drive level, it's feels and sounds more alive to me. I've not used a signature echo (once I have the funds I will get one) only heard the many great soundfiles on the site but I imagine the unit will react in the same way.
Thanks

Hi Charlie,
Thank you, i shall enquire. Grady Martin has had a massive impact on my playing of late (especially his tone) if all options become too expensive i shall just make do with what i have already lol.
Thanks

Hello
Would anyone have any idea where I would find a pick up that would put me in that Grady Martin tone zone??
I love TK Smiths C.A.R. pickups but don't have $680 to shell out, i wondered if any of you learned guys might have a direction to point me in.
Thanks
