Hi Peter,
No hum, The sound is very good depending on what speaker you use. I tried it through my AC15 Celestion Blue and it was very good and loud for a 5w Amp. The sound probably leans towards a Marshall amp sound, but still very good. A very good practice Amp, I've played Shadows through it and am very satisfied with it. A very useful project. I see you are located in Surrey, I am West London (Hillingdon) you are welcome to come and look/try mine if you wish.

Hi Peter, Rogers right I built the 5w amp from Ampbuilder a couple of years ago, a very satisfying project. These amps come with first class instructions so go for it and have fun!!

Hi roger,
I didn't know it was your birthday, that means I owe you two drinks!! One for posting my pictures and one for your birthday. Sadly you will have to wait until the Watford Club meeting because I will be away when the Bourne End Club next meet.
Best regards, Baz.

Hi Rob,
I have a picture of myself with a LEFT HANDED Burns solid body electric 'Short Scale Jazz Guitar' that I had in 1965. I still have the H.P. agreement for £75.00!
The problem I am having at the moment is difficulty uploading pictures. I'll post it when I get sorted.

Hi Alan,
I agree with what Julian says. For the most part assembling a guitar is mostly common sense.
About three years ago I decided to buy a new guitar, but being 'left handed' cramped my choice considerably. I looked at various models but couldn't find anything with the type of neck or pups that I would have liked. So I thought why not build my own? So I built a Strat with a neck and body from Warmouth and all the other different parts from all over the place, and I am very pleased with it.
As Julian says, It is quite a very satisfying experience when its finished and you play it for the first time.

I use them and they are first class with goods and delivery etc. You shouldn't have any trouble at all, a lot of people on here use them.

Hi Fulham,
Yes the the Q20 is better than the Q2, there isn't much in it apart from the Q20 has a bigger memory and its less noisy.

Hi Rick,
It possibly isn't fair to discus another product on Charlie's site that is competitive with his own product.
To answer your questions; I have had one for about three years. It is made with top quality components, has been very reliable and the only servicing would be to replace the tube. Which I have never had to do.
I see you live in Bucks, (possibly not far from me) you would be welcome to come and try mine if you wish.

Hi Tony,
What "exotic gear" were you referring too? The JMI AMP or BOSE LI MK.2 or both?
By the way the guilty feeling disappeared quite quickly!!

Hi George, I really like your "Life Span/Money Left" idea of thinking! I did the same thing about three years ago, I "bit the bullet" spent all the kids inheritance and bought a TVS3.

Hi Brian,
Yes I still have a USA Shure Unidine 111. Had it from about 1965. It was the 'must have' Mike for all the Bands in the sixties, brilliant.

Hi Gerry,
If you set them both between 12 and 1 o/clock would give you possibly the best sound to noise ratio.

As I know you personally and you being a genuine nice person I know that you didn't mean anything bad with your comment, and I never even thought that either.

Hi Tony, I thought mine being left handed might be worth more, being a 'lefty' I know how difficult it can be find 'lefty' parts.

Hi.
I have a set of Kluson tuners from a 1962 left handed Strat. I had in the 60's. (Yes I do wish that I still had it) I wonder what I would get for them?
That vintage site on the well known auction site are asking in the region of £325.00, perhaps it time to sell them.
Baz.

Hi Les, The good thing about the Bose L1 is that it isn't deafening because of the way it throws the sound all around the room. It also stands behind you without any feedback and doubles as a monitor.
Best regards, Baz.

Hi, I have a Bose L1 mk. 2 system and it is the 'bee's knees' for sound and portability. Bose do not state what the output is but someone told that it housed three 250w amplifiers in the base that doubled for the speaker stand. But as Rod says it dosn't come cheap.
Best regards, Baz.

Thank you Charlie,
Yes it caught me by surprise, it is quite worrying, and I hope something can be done about it. The specialist told me its not Arthritis which is good news. He told me it is weakening of the muscles. I don't have any pain, and its just the fingers that are weak. I can lift things o.k. its just gripping things thats hard.
A merry Christmas to you.
Best regards, Baz.

hi All,
i don't know if I qualify for 'The Arthritis Club' but last week I saw a specialist about not being able to grip with my fingers.
After a lengthy examination he told me I had a mild disease of the hands called 'Dystrophia Myotonica' I don't know if there is any treatment for it other than some finger exercise to help strengthen them. I have to see another specialist to have some 'electrical pulses' done to help with the diagnosis. I am finding it very hard to do Barre cords etc.
All the best and a merry Christmas to everyone,
Baz.
