I was wondering if anyone as or have used tonerider pups and what they sound like compered to other types also what price compered to others. When reading up on them it seems the pure vintage set-trs1 appears to be a good choice, but the proof is in the use that's why I am asking for your opinions please. Thanks in advance Pete

Hi I read that when The shadows were recording a number they would do quite a number of takes in the session then sit down after and pick the one to be released. This would lead you to believe that each take would be slightly different in some way. How on a live performance this came over depended on a number of factors (location, equipment, ect.) without all the expert equipment, recording studio, sound engineers, ect.what would it sound like. I would think any Two renditions of one tune would not be perfectly identical were ever played. Pete PS: Having watched and listened to some members on here they are very much doing a very good job of The Shadows tunes in there own ways exellent.

Hi Graham Having just read your posting on the death of Eddie Cochran I would like to thank you for taking the time and effort for putting it all together and posting. Eddies music and performances are legendary still today.I remember hearing the news on the BBC and coming only a year after Buddy Holly. As a teenager at the time it made a lasting impression giving a different meaning to the music when you heard it being played. Regards Pete

Hi Ian It's about the individuals look and feel maple or rosewood which looks the best on what colour guitar,That I think is what it comes down to in my opinion. Some guitarist would elaberate on this theory and say all sorts of things to try and sound different but then that's guitarists for you. Regards Pete

I have been looking at the Yamaha Pacifica range of guitars and was wondering if anyone has or had one and what they sounded like? The model I personally like is the 311H in vintage white.I would appreciate any thoughts or comments, Good or Bad, from members or anyone. Not just for Shadows tunes but in general. I have a calender at home of custom guitars on this month there is a picture of a guitar built by Master builder Paul Waller. It is a stratocaster ( built to match a 1948 Chevrolet Woody look), which is owned by Eric Clapton only one of two in existence. The body is finger joined ash with mahogany inlaid into it.The neck is one piece of mahogany with ash binding. The guitar was built to Claptons specifications including the neck shape and electronics and set up. The colour of the pick guard and headstock are from the same restored Chevy built by Roy Brizio. I was wondering if anyone can elaborate any more on this guitar which i must say is a amazing looking guitar.I really am sorry I can not supply a picture of it as my computer skills are not up to it.
