Hi Kay Thats a really good looking Project. Would have suited the Quatro back in the day. The blackburst looks pretty good to me. I agree a pearl plate would look awesome. www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Pearl-Scratchplate-Stratocaster-Pickguard/dp/B008RW61KQLets hear it played. (When the cr-p fake torty scratchplate on my cream white Harley Benton ST62 began to delaminate, it acquired a white one. Instant 'Mary Kay'.) Bests Ian

Worst SS amp was the Roland Blues Cube Artist from a couple of years ago โฆ..sounded really good at home and lost the plot on stageโฆ. Paul ๐ธ๐๐ธ๐๐ธ When I started again c2004 I bought a very secondhand Peavey Audition 30. Very loud at home but when I took it to Hankies that first time - - where did all the volume go??! Feeble! Even my Vox VT60, a hybrid, isn't as loud as an genuine AC30. Must be dynamics or summat. Ian

The song he chose to perform IIRC was as a tribute to his Dad not particularly perhaps to please the 'baying' wolves of the jury. Now, finally, he Will be able to dance with his Fwther again. Lovely man, superb musician. Ian

Hi Kay Some people will do anything to get out of Posting. Sheesh! Hint - you can always just 'lurk'. An injury like that needs time to heel and I've no idea if Fizzio lets you bend your wrist as we do as part of Therapy. Whatever, stick around. Please. Bests Ian

I am shocked and heartbroken to have spoken with Bakey w ho told me of my mate Ecca's passing. NO, heartbroken doesn't cut it. Ecca was there, a founder member, when I first went to Hankies in 2005, relearning from years past. He helped me no end, his quirky humour making us all laugh out loud often, his Victor Borg guitar style often outrageous. Of course he could play them all, could play anything , perfectly. His Spinning Leaf videos were clever and always interesting. I am saddened beyond belief. God Rest You, my friend. Ian (St Peter - No, Ecca, you cant play The Savage on me 'arp!!)

Interesting. Certainly looks 'right' for the year. AFAICR Hank bought a sunburst Strat when working with John Farrar and it eventually got sprayed hlack. But that would be way after 1964 and of course nowadays is therefore no longer sunburst.

FWIW Jontie, I did this to a Kinman FV pickup once and only Chris Kinman could or would repair it. As I recall it came back pretty quickly and wasn't an expensive repair but who knows how long it might take these days. Any chance you getting your money back? Ian

Hi Al Its a Set I'm playing and dont want to (maybe not allowed to) change Owners setting. So I'll have to get it set to just one and go with it. Charlie - I guess that's a direct comparison so I'll ask if he'll set it to that for me. Many thanks Ian

Hi All I'm gigging Sunday and am using their Backline which is certain to include an HCSE. I have an old (very old!) Q2EFTP with its original 78 patch set - never upgraded it. Which HCSE patch would give me the OLD Q2 series Patch 0-30 "MEAZZI LX 3456" Any ideas please? Many thanks Ian

A bit of hyperbole from Bonhams? Didn't FR have copies made for gigging to save wear & tear on it?

Ah, onE I don't know at all, so listening it solely as the Instro that you have played. Well played - I can just imagine The Shads doing this as an Instro Cover too. Less than 2 minutes long - didnt get much for your money in those days. Cheers Ian

Hi Ricky Very rare posting indeed. Nicely played and you did well to remove most of Hank from the original. If you are interested, there is a quality BT for this tune on Ian MCCutcheons CD "Shadows Workout 9+" Ian

Its the one ommission from Mastertrax due to S&G refusing permission for the BT to be made available in case we amateurs sullied their perfect music with less than perfect performances. There is a BT out there. I'm on hols this week. If you don't find it, PM me and I'll look it up on my spreadsheet. Ian

Hi Paul I almost missed this. The way my PC is set up I didnt scroll down far enough. At the top of the page there's a bit that says "Recent Posts" Ian. I just click on that and start from where I left off from my last visit so it doesn't matter which section anyone has posted something in I can see them all. Sorry if you already do that and you meant that you didn't scroll down far enough after clicking on it Y'know, Kiddo, seldom a day goes by without learning summat new. Last week it was learning how sharp garden knives are and slicing my wrist, fortunately just below where all the veins are. Today it was this nugget. Never bethought me. Thank you, Sandra. Hope you're keeping well. Ian

Hi Paul I almost missed this. The way my PC is set up I didnt scroll down far enough. Very worthy of being up in the MEMBERS section as well. Many others do both. Very atmospheric track and great sound from the G&L - neck pickup? You've got a lovely echo set up on the ESE too. The playing is quite full on and sounds really 'bouncy' and happy. Its that Zummerzet air? Cheers ian PS - your profile still says Montgomery.
