I've used www.stringbusters.com for years to supply my guitar strings. I ordered a couple of sets on 17th June and paid with paypal. The strings normally arrive the next working day - but these didn't. I tried ringing them several times but get no answer, tried emailing but no response. So I've taken out a paypal dispute in order to get the money refunded. Has anyone else had any recent problems with them ? Thanks Phil

Hi Steve and Rob - Yes Kurt introduced me to the Pitchfork after last years 2017 Scarborough Gala - I was so impressed I bought one (and so did a few others !) Great fun to use - I've made 2 or 3 videos using it one of which is in the Sound Files section now. Kurt always makes great use of the H&C echo, to hear their sound live was so authentic for those early Shadows sounds and the Lennart Clerwall compositions. Cheers Phil

The sale price of secondhand Gibson guitars has increased by quite a lot since the announcements that the company was in trouble according to a friend who regularly goes to the guitar auctions guitar-auctions.co.uk/

Hi Baz - I use Song Vegas pro 9 which is quite old as they are up to version 15 now, but I'm comfortable with it and it does everything I need. I Record in 1080 HD and the files are between 500meg and 1 Gig for a 3 - 5 min song. You do need a powerful computer for editing in HD Rendering a multi track video takes about 10 minutes. There is no difference between the final result on your computer and the HD video on youtube. If you want any more info on Sony Vegas I have a few unlisted tutorials and there is a great load of tutorials on YT. Cheers Phil

Thank goodness for CCTV I've seen a lot of TV programmes where they publish these video's on social media and the culprits are shopped - Here's hoping someone will recognise the low-life's shop them and claim the reward. Phil

Hi Tony - I was hoping Lee or one of the band members would reply - I was just the video man along with Roy Cresswell who took some footage from the edge of the stage.(He had a better seat than me Lol) I agree their own compostions are always special and great to hear a band playing them live and so well!! Their "elevator" music is exactaly how my wife describes some of their later stuff but I personally like all that as it's easy to cover and seems to be popular with the general public which is probably why the record companies tell them to record it. I think from the audience reaction every one who attended Lakeside 2017 enjoyed it - for me because of Lee's band the best one since 2012 when Bruce was in charge :-) Cheers Phil

Hi Rosemary, Rob & Steve - I agree it was great to see some of the later shads numbers being played. And so well. I even liked the songs from Rockin' with curly leads which until then was my least favourite album Lol. I'm sure the boys will appreciate your good comments. Cheers Phil

Hi Guys - I agree they put on a superb performance and must have taken a lot of dedication to get to that standard. I know they only had 1 rehersal before the gig which was amaazing as they were so tight on the night and had all the walks and great stage presence. George - Yes Lee is still the Bass player with The Rapiers, and Nathan (on bass) was the former bass player with the Rapiers before Lee joined.

Hi Kay - Thank you so much for the link to the interview. It's the 1st and only interview with Hank I've heard with reference to "Without a Word". This means a lot to me as I am gradually covering all his brilliant tracks with help from my son Andrew making the BT's. For me it's the best CD from Hank since Guitar Player (the acoustic album). I love all the tracks and looking forward to covering the rest of them. 8 covered so far - a YT playlist if anyone interested. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTZdz_AB2LI&list=PLvhFslBIpUKW-aXjnO1Sh-6O0Z6PvcNEgCheers Phil

Hi Chris & Rosemary - Glad you are enjoying their set - We enjoyed watching them play. I've left everything in just as it was on the night. Lots of energy required for the last track !.. I agree Rosemary Teardrop is a nice track first time I've heard it also.
When it comes to the top of the bill - I forwarded all my footage to Lee so he can edit and montage it how he pleases. (Saves me a lot of work ! ) so looking forward to seeing that when it's completed.
Cheers Phil

Phil, a real beauty indeed. If it sounds like it looks, your in for a real tread!! Tony, on this site alone there are members with more look-a-like HMB CS guitars with Fender decals, as original genuines where build... As a owner of all originals, I had to learn to turn a blind eye because, it's swimming against the stream..... To be honest lots of fake's are build and sounding in the same league as originals and a few are even beter, so it's only very wrong to sell a replica as original.... Cheers Rob Hi Rob - You're absolutly right it's illegal to attempt to sell a copy as an original. If the buyer is made aware it's up to them but you have to declare it. Cheers Phil

Wow - what a beautiful instrument! I love the telecaster - completely indestructible! You just know it's going to sound great! I was a bit sceptical at first about the sunburst and gold hardware - but it all looks completely perfect! Especially that neck. One question though Phil - how is it that it can be called a Fender Telecaster? Is it legal to put the Fender decal on the headstock when it is not made by them? Best, Tony. Hi Tony, Yes if a certain % of the guitar is genuine Fender then you are allowed to use a Fender decal. I forget the exact % figure but I know if the body is Fender that covers it. If Alan makes a guitar from scratch then he never puts the Fender logo on - For example the Strat he made for me in 2003 Athough lots of parts were Fender not enough % was original Fender so he wouldn't put the logo on. I did it myself on top of the laquer. The problem only arises is you try and sell on the guitar as a Fender when it clearly is not. The colour of the neck I got from Robby in Aus - I loved that colour and sent the video of him playing Alfie to Alan Brason and said that's the colour I would like for the Tele. At the time I thoght it was a Fender and later found out that it was one of Alan's necks that he shipped out to Aus! So he was very familier with the colour. All the best.. Phil

Thanks Phil & Pete - Yes I've had my name down for about 2 years for something to be made and when I won the Tele body at the auction I thought that was ideal as I didn't need a 4th Strat ! lol My new bridge pickup arrived today and I've just put it on - sounds great ! I'll do Demo next week... Cheers Phil

Phil, You can check on YouTube to see where, or if, songs are allowed. Some of them look quite odd. Check it out here, you may need to sign into YT to see it. www.youtube.com/music_policies?noapp=1I had problems when I tried to upload a cover of a Led Zeppelin song I had done. In the end I put it on Vimeo. Tim. Hi Tim - I tried that link with "Hotel California Hank Marvin" and it shows as being viewable worldwide. Hi Matthew - Yes a lot of guys who upload Eagles songs to YT have had them blocked. Shame really as it's all good publicity for the original. Cheers Phil
